Beignet Recipe(GVC Food Recipe)

  • 1kg of flour.
  • 2 spoons of baking powder.
  • 2 spoons of butter.
  • 4 eggs.
  • A jug (.8-1-1.5 liters) of milk.
  • A packet of lemon zest.
  • 3 big bowls.
  • Big spoon(metal or wood).
  • Vanilla essence.
  • 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • Half a cup of sugar(4-6 inch cup).
  • Stove(fire and gas).
  • A big pot.
  • Vegetable oil.
  • Liter measure( use it to measure liquids while cooking).
  • Follow directions, be able bodied and use discernment.
  • 8-13 inch long and 4 ½ inch wide rolling pin.


  1. Get bowl.
  2. Crack eggs and put into bowl.
  3. From time to time use discernment and progressively add ingredients(ones mentioned) that will balance the ratio of materials.
  4. Put flour(all) into bowl.
  5. Put 2 spoons of butter and baking powder into bowl.
  6. Add vanilla essence into bowl.
  7. Add half a cup of sugar.
  8. Sprinkle in a handful(average adult hand) of lemon zest(from packet) into the bowl.
  9. Mix the formula for about 3 minutes with a spoon.
  10. Then add milk (all the milk).
  11. Stir for 5 minutes.
  12. Wait for it to rise for 1-2 hours.
  13. Roll out dough with rolling pin until it is dense but equal and not to big or small.
  14. Roll out spheres(with hands etc…) from the formula( dough formula)then put them in a separate bowl.
  15. When done rolling out spheres turn on stove( switch the knob to about half of the gas)
  16. Warm up stove with pot on it.
  17. Pour ⅓ of a liter of vegetable oil into pot.
  18. Wait for it to warm up.
  19. Put spheres into pot and wait for 1 and ½ minute for it to cook.
  20. Then take it out with spoon then put them in bowl.
  21. After done cooking all put them in a separate bowl.
  22. Voila perfect beignets, serve and or enjoy!

CAUTION: Specified materials (ex.8-13 inch long and 4 ½ inch wide rolling pin).are advised but do not have to be used they don't really make a difference it's a question of self-preference and what you have available. These advised things are not fact based but may help, the recipe is though. If you can find alternatives that's great, you do not have to strictly follow the recipe, it's up to you. But the measurements for the ingredients are. Be careful with the materials you use and adult supervision is advised.
