  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 pounds peeled, rinsed large Idaho potatoes
  • 6 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pinch of minced parsley
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Take the potatoes and put them in a deep-bottomed pot. Pour in water until all the potatoes are submerged. Put the lid on and bring to a boil. Once at a boil, lessen heat subtly and wait until potatoes are soft (test this using a fork or knife). Take the potatoes from the pot and drain them. Mash the potatoes until fluffy and creamy.

Next, pour the milk into a different pan and heat. Once boiling, immediately remove the pan from the heat. Pour the milk into the potatoes and mix well. Next, microwave the butter until it is melted. Pour this into the mixture and mix again. Then, take the garlic and heat until gooey. Then, sprinkle in the pepper and salt. Add to the potatoes and mix.

Sprinkle the parsley and parmesan cheese on top, and you have delicious mashed potatoes!
