Dussehra is a religious festival. It is celebrated on 11 October in India ,.on this occasion we all burn a effigy of an evil named Ravana along with is one brother and 1 son who was killed by a god named Rama , many years ago........it is said that burning the evil is winning of goodness over evil...
It is said that before Dussahra lord Rama was sent to a jungle along with his wife and brother as a punishment for 14 years.....the punishment was given to him without any mistake......when they went the jungle they start living in a small hut.....after some months , a devil named Ravana kidnapped lord Rama's wife and took her to his own kingdom.....lord Rama was worried...and from then lord Rama and his brother (Lakshmada) started finding her.......in the way they fought many more evils.....later they had got a support of lord Hamuman and the monkey soldiers.....they fought with Ravana and found lord Rama's wife ( Sita)......the day when Ravana was killed is called Dussehra and the day when lord Rama along with his family returned his kingdom (Ayothya) is called Diwali in India.....I am really exited.....as tomorrow again there will be a remembrance to children and peoples about the fight of goodness and evilness in which goodness and trueness won......i would like to give one more information about Dushehra that when lord Rama along with his family returned to Ayodhya , the happiness of the kingdom returned as lord Rama was a peaceful , true and a capable king who took the throne after his fathers death....

This is one of the images I had from my gallery which shows our Lord Rama or Ramachandra is the seventh avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu. India is a country which is very famous for its culture and tradition, fairs and festivals and one of the most important religious festivals of India is Dussehra. Dussehra, also known as Vijaya Dashami, is an Indian festival that celebrates the victory of good forces over evil forces. The meaning of Dussehra is the victory of Lord Rama over the ten headed demon king Ravana. It spans for 10 days and is celebrated in varied traditions across India. It is celebrated on the tenth day of brighter fortnight in the month of Ashwin. The first nine days are celebrated as Navratri.

The ‘Ramlila’ is an enactment of the life of Lord Rama which is held during the nine days preceding Dussehra. On the tenth day larger effigies of Ravana, his son Meghnath and his younger bother Kumbhakarna are set on fire. The theatrical enactment of this dramatic encounter is held throughout the country in which every section of people participates enthusiastically.
These are some photos that I have clicked yesterday in my colony. First, we burn the effigy of Ravana's son Meghnath which is in the extreme left, then his younger brother Kumbhakarna which is in the extreme right and then finally we burn the effigy of Ravana which is placed in the center. Here's also a video of the giant effigy of the ten-headed demon king Ravana which went up in flames, marking the triumph of good over evil.
In burning the effigies, the people are asked to burn the evil within them and thus follow the path of truth and goodness, bearing in mind the instance of Ravana, who despite all his might and majesty was destroyed due to his evil ways. There are two widely known legends behind Dussehra, the essence of both being the victory of good over evil. The most popular one of Lord Rama’s victory over The Lankan King Ravana is relevant in North India, while the celebrations in South India is based on the legend of Goddess Durga’s triumph over the demon buffalo king, Mahishasura.
Fairs are a major highlight of Dussehra festivities. They are organized in cities where stalls are set up for shopping and joy-rides and other activities for kids are organized and the streets are bustling with people gathered to see huge effigies of Ravana burn.
