This recipe has been in my family a long time. My grandmother got it from her neighbor when my mom was growing up. Their neighbor's name was Mrs. Prall so my grandmother just named the recipe after her. It has been in our family a long time now and has changed a bit over time but is basically still the same recipe.

Conversion Table U.S. to Metric and Metric to U.S.


  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 15 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1 t. sugar
  • ¾ t. salt
  • ¼ t. garlic salt
  • ¼ t. pepper
  • 4 cups uncooked noodles
  • 8 oz. softened cream cheese
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup chopped onion


  1. Brown the ground beef and the onions in a frying pan
  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, sugar, salts, and pepper
  3. Meanwhile, cook the noodles and drain them
  4. Combine the cottage cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream
  5. Spread ½ of the noodles in a 8x11 inch dish and top it with some meat sauce and the cheese mixture
  6. Add the remaining meat sauce and noodles
  7. Cook in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
  8. Lastly, top the dish with parmesan cheese
