Grandma Dorothy's Rice Pudding

Conversion Table U.S. to Metric and Metric to U.S.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of white rice
  • 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Procedure:

Slowly hear milk on low heat.
Dissolve sugar in warm milk.
Add rice and vanilla extract.
Cook on low heat until rice is tender, stirring frequently.
Remove 1 cup of the mixture and wish in egg.
Replace egg/rice mixture into rice and stir well.
Cook on low heat until thick.
Transfer to bowl and cool.

May also be eaten warm.
